Rest your voice

Avoid talking, shouting and whispering for a few days. Remember that whispering can also overstress your vocal cords.

Drink fluids

Keep your throat moist by consuming plenty of fluids, provided that it is not excessively hot or cold.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine

Alcohol and caffeine can cause throat dryness with the active ingredients they contain. Throat dryness and hoarseness are undesirable in the treatment process.

Gargle

Gargling for hoarseness in inflamed and irritated throats gives very effective results. A throat gargle can be made by adding salt to a glass of warm water. Gargle 2-3 times a day until relief is achieved.

Use throat lozenges

Keeping the throat moist is very important for hoarseness. Throat lozenges with honey, lemon and green tea also help reduce cough.

Take a hot shower or steam bath

Steam helps to provide moisture by opening the airways. It prevents throat dryness.

Quit smoking

Cigarette smoke causes dryness and irritation in the throat.
