The system of proper nutrition implies a special organization of food intake, rich in all the necessary vitamins and substances useful for the body.

Such nutritional patterns were developed by nutritionists who calculated how much a person needs to consume fats, proteins and carbohydrates per day. For this, the Harris-Benedict formula for individual calculation of calories was derived (for women: 655 + (9.6 x weight in kg) + (1.8 x height in cm) – (4.7 x age in years); for men: 66.5 + (13.7 x weight in kg) + (5 x height in cm) – (6.8 x age in years).

Proper nutrition is not a diet, as it is not starvation, but a component of a healthy lifestyle. To improve the well-being of such a system, it is worth adhering to for a long time, many follow its principles all their lives.

Proper nutrition maintains health and helps to normalize weight, is the prevention of such ailments as diabetes, heart disease, etc.

Where to begin

It is necessary to switch to proper nutrition not abruptly, but gradually. To begin with, a person who wants to lead a healthy lifestyle can look at what foods are contained in his daily diet, analyze each meal for the presence of substances and vitamins useful for the body. It is easiest to write down your menu in a notebook indicating the time of breakfast, lunch and dinner, the number of snacks and the amount of food. After that, it will become clear which foods should be added to the diet, and which should be removed.

The second stage of the transition will be the habit of eating breakfast. Many people do not attach importance to breakfast, but it is the most important meal of the day, as it gives energy for the whole day and contributes to full awakening.

You do not need to immediately exclude all harmful foods from the diet, it is enough to start small: for example, in the first two weeks, give up only white bread and chocolate.
