Asthma
Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease that can lead to episodes of respiratory distress. It progresses with symptoms such as shortness of breath, coughing and wheezing as a result of narrowing of the airways in the lungs. It has two different forms, allergic and chronic asthma. Allergic asthma is one of the important allergic diseases, together with allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis. Allergic asthma, like other allergic diseases, is a disease characterized by an overreaction of the immune system to certain external stimuli. Chronic asthma, on the other hand, is a type of asthma that usually starts at the age of 30-40 and occurs due to inflammation and narrowing of the respiratory tract. Anti-inflammatory and bronchodilator drugs are used in the treatment of asthma, and symptoms can usually be controlled with medications. In allergic asthma, staying away from allergen substances to which the body reacts is an important part of the treatment.
