What do you know about eyebrow lifting?
Raising the eyebrows is an aesthetic intervention that raises the eyebrows, improving the appearance of the area around the eyes and forehead. This surgery can be associated with other facial surgical procedures: upper blepharoplasty, facelift, or lipophilization. Because it is an aesthetic intervention, it can greatly improve self-perception and self-confidence.
With age and loss of skin elasticity, the eyebrows migrate by gravity. This reduces the distance to the upper eyelid and determines the appearance of tired, sad or frowning eyes. The intervention can apply to any person who has lowered eyebrows, positioned too low or asymmetrical. The surgical technique varies greatly depending on the degree of eyebrow lowering, the patient’s wishes, and whether other interventions are associated at the same time. Advocacy for endoscopic lifting involves the existence of special tools in the clinic for this intervention. Its advantage is the presence of much smaller incisions and faster recovery.
Open access can be aimed at raising the eyebrows and forehead or just the eyebrows. The incisions can be hidden in the hairy area of the scalp, when the forehead and eyebrows are raised (raising the crown). In case of raising only the eyebrow, the incision will be located on the border between the forehead and the eyebrows.
Like any surgery, eyebrow lifting is also associated with certain risks: bleeding, infection, unsightly scars (hypertrophic scar, keloid, rectum), changes in the forehead and partial scalp sensitivity, asymmetry between the two eyebrows, changes in the distribution of eyebrow hairs (loss of hair follicles or change of eyebrow hair line). Each of them has an initially conservative and later a surgical solution. After the intervention, three to seven days of rest are needed, depending on the degree of intervention. Have a painkiller and sleep on a few pillows with your head down to reduce edema. The incision can be closed with threads or surgical patches, they must be removed between seven and ten days.
Raising the eyebrows can restore a younger and more attractive look. The result of the operation is not guaranteed for life. Facial skin continues to undergo age-specific changes, so that over time the eyebrows will start to fall out again. In order to determine the most appropriate surgical technique, a detailed examination and discussion with a plastic surgeon is mandatory.
