What is hair loss?

Hair loss is the excessive fall of the hair that causes much anxiety in the people who suffer. This fall can be caused by different factors, such as stress, hormonal changes or malnutrition. In addition, there are also hereditary causes that make alopecia more likely to occur.

What are the symptoms of hair loss?

The most common symptom of hair loss is the presence of clumps of hair on your pillow or in your bathroom every time you wash your hair. If you have it, you should consult a doctor to determine if it is due to an illness or not. The doctor will ask you about your habits and will perform a blood test and if necessary, a biopsy to determine if there are other health problems and their possible solutions.

Hair loss is a very common problem for men, but also for women. Many people think that hair loss only happens when we reach the age of 50, but in reality, it can occur at any age.

There are many causes of hair loss such as stress, age, pregnancy, diseases or malnutrition, among others.

The reasons why you lose your hair and how to remedy it:

Hereditary factors: It is the main cause of alopecia in men and women. In these cases there is no remedy except to use wigs or other treatments to hide this problem. To know if this is the reason why you have alopecia you should ask your parents and grandparents of both sides if they have had problems with the mane or not. If so, you may have inherited it from them and there is no known cure. This type of hair loss usually begins between 15 and 25 years old, although some people may experience it earlier or later.

Stress: When we are subjected to situations of high stress our body goes into survival mode, which means that it will focus more on vital functions such as breathing than on less important processes such as hair growth. This is why we may lose more hair during stressful times than usual.
