What is scoliosis?
Scoliosis is the term for a type of skew in which the spine is S-shaped or C-shaped when viewed from behind. (See picture). Usually the back here will be straight. The degree of skew and the location of the curvature are often decisive for whether one gets nuisance in scoliosis.
In the vast majority of cases, you do not get pain from the milder degrees of scoliosis.
Breakdown of scoliosis types
Structural scoliosis is in 80% of cases congenital or occurred for no known reason. It is believed that it is a large degree of hereditary factors that determine whether one develops scoliosis
Functional scoliosis is often due to imbalance in the body as a result of prolonged compensation and muscle imbalances as a result of prolonged pain or after trauma
How to spot scoliose
Scoliosis manifests itself in a skewed posture, different heights of the shoulders or back can bulge when bending forward. Some may have back pain in scoliosis, but in the majority of cases it gives no symptoms. In most cases, you do not need any treatment and finally use your back. It is strong, and only gets stronger from being used.
