1. Transformation brought about by nose tipping surgery

3. Incision of nasal tip formation

The principle is a closed incision

During the operation, in order to directly see the nasal tip cartilage and the transplanted cartilage, the surgeon needs to make an incision inside the left and right nostrils for suture fixation.

Because the skin and cartilage of the nose tip are peeled off in a wide range, swelling will occur at the nose tip after surgery. In order to reduce the swelling in time, we placed a nasal cuff for compression and fixation one week after the operation.

When the nose cover is removed after a week, there will be no obvious swelling, but there will still be puffiness left on the skin, making the tip of the nose look thick.

It will take 4-5 months for the swelling to disappear completely.

4. Comparison with L-shaped prosthesis

L-shaped prostheses that match the bridge of the nose and raise the tip of the nose are often used.

Rhinoplasty with an L-shaped prosthesis is a very convenient surgical method that not only makes the tip of the nose upturned, but also penetrates the bridge of the nose.

Compared with this method, there is also a method of implanting a type I prosthesis on the bridge of the nose and using a cartilage heightening method on the tip of the nose.

Any of the above methods can produce the same nose shape.

4-1 Problems with L-shaped prostheses

The problem with the L-shaped prosthesis is that it tends to compress the skin at the tip of the nose, causing the entire prosthesis to run up the root of the nose.

After the operation, the condition is very good, but after half a year or a year, the prosthesis will be found to be displaced upward.

This way, the tip of the nose will be positioned higher than originally designed, and the nostrils will be positioned higher.

In addition, due to the pressure of the prosthesis, the skin of the nose tip is stretched and becomes thinner and thinner.

When the tension between the skin and its surrounding tissues increases, the blood circulation becomes poor, and bacteria are more likely to multiply.

If bacteria cause an infection, if left untreated, the skin will burst and the prosthesis will be exposed.

The nose tip formation surgery of the patient’s own tissue (cartilage) is a surgery, bacteria are not easy to multiply, the risk of infection is small, and the skin will not be broken.
