How long does it take for the nose to heal completely?

You should definitely be patient when healing from a rhinoplasty, because with rhinoplasty it is perfectly normal for nose swelling to last for several months or even up to a year. Only when the swelling has subsided does the nose assume the desired position. The shape of the nose is completely stable in most patients after about a year. It can still change slightly six to twelve months after the operation.

When can you see the final result after rhinoplasty and is it permanent?

The doctor can only assess the final result of the nose operation after twelve or 18 months. Even if an aesthetic state is achieved after a few weeks, the final result of rhinoplasty can only be estimated much later. This result is then normally permanently visible. However, if you are dissatisfied with the result of the operation and want a correction, you must wait at least a year before the nose can be operated on again.

Is there also a non-surgical rhinoplasty?

Yes, there is also the possibility of correcting the nose without surgery. For example, correction with hyaluronic acid is one of the best-known treatment methods. However, a non-surgical rhinoplasty is only possible with slight flaws, such as a crooked nose or a bumpy nose.

How does rhinoplasty with hyaluronic acid work and how much does it cost?

When correcting the nose with hyaluronic acid, the filler is injected under the skin in a targeted manner to straighten the bridge of the nose. The attending surgeon then models the bridge of the nose according to your wishes. This method not only fills indentations on the bridge of the nose, but also lifts the tips of the nose. In addition, the doctor can optically narrow wide noses by redefining the bridge of the nose with a slim elevation.

How does a rhinoplasty with autologous fat work and how much does the treatment cost?

The physician can also use autologous fat to compensate for irregular contours of the nose. A sunken bridge of the nose or a deep bridge of the nose can be corrected by injecting autologous fat. Even after a loss of volume, the doctor can use autologous fat to straighten the nose.

In the case of autologous fat injections, excess fatty tissue, for example from the stomach or groin region, is removed. Through certain medical procedures, the surgeon prepares the fat and makes it available in a sterile form. This autologous fat can then be used by injection for nose correction.

What deformities can be corrected with non-surgical methods and are the results permanent?

In the case of slight deformities of the nose, the correction can be carried out non-operatively, but if there is a functional disorder due to a significant deformity of the nose, a nose operation is normally necessary.

Results are usually permanent immediately after correction, although some people receive therapy in two separate treatments. This is particularly the case with hyaluron fillers, since most of the hyaluronic acid is broken down over a period of about 12 months. A refresher treatment should therefore be carried out after a year at the latest. In addition, a second treatment may be necessary after a few months in the case of autologous fat injections in order to optimize the result.

Can the rhinoplasty be combined with other operations?

Yes, a rhinoplasty can also be performed in combination with other procedures. If there are curvatures or crooked positions in the nasal septum, normal nasal breathing can very easily be impaired. In this context, this can lead to impairment of the paranasal sinuses and middle ear function. Therefore, a correction of the nasal septum can be done together with a nose correction. Even if nasal polyps form in the nasal mucosa, they can severely restrict nasal breathing. Those affected often have difficulty breathing through their nose, which can even lead to a reduction in their quality of life. If these polyps are severe, surgical removal may be necessary. An operation of the nasal polyps and a correction of the nose can be combined in one procedure.

Another popular combination is rhinoplasty together with breast augmentation using implants or autologous fat. These two procedures can also be carried out in a single operation without any problems.
