Injection of hyaluronic acid to beautify your nose without surgery

Injections of hyaluronic acid are an excellent alternative to rhinoplasty. The use of hyaluronic acid is less invasive, less expensive and requires a shorter recovery time than surgery. The area is reserved for advanced injectors only. The treatment combines injections aimed at beautification (correction of asymmetry) and rejuvenation since the shape of the nose changes with age.

Adequate knowledge of proper techniques and patient anatomy is essential for nasal filling. When using a needle, injections are placed directly over the perichondrium and periosteum to avoid major vessels present in the upper fatty and fibromuscular layers and minimize the risk of strokes. Very low, flat noses and those with an excessive bump require the use of a needle rather than a cannula. The minimal approach includes injecting hyaluronic acid directly into the tip of the nose, which decreases with age and due to facial animation. The volume of a filler varies depending on the size of the nose, the thickness of the skin and the number of sites treated. The single bolus should be up to 0.1 mL or less, and the subsequent volume should be injected using the linear retrograde technique. Volumes with a highly cohesive product, provide sustained projection, limited spreading and optimal swelling for use in the area.

Patients with a deep naso-labial angle require its opening with filling of the anterior nasal column. A deep injection widens the inferior part of the membranous septum, increasing the angle to ≥ 90° according to the desired aesthetic criterion according to the patient and the anatomy. Using HA, columellar retraction can be corrected by injections into the membranous septum. A columella that is too small can be filled, but its base cannot be too wide, requiring control of a shape with the fingers.

An excessive nasal hump or an under-projected nasal dorsum increases the naso-frontal angle. Filling the concavity makes the nasal bridge straighter without surgical removal of the bump. The injection is close to the periosteum in the muscle and subcutaneous layers. Injections on the bony and cartilaginous ridge increase the projection of the nose in the profile view and narrow the nose in the front view.
