What are the operational consequences?
In an endoscopic forehead lift, four to five small incisions are made in the scalp so that an endoscope can be inserted. The endoscope has a tiny camera attached to it that projects images onto a monitor for your surgeon’s evaluation during surgery. Small instruments are then passed through other small incisions to lift the underlying muscles and tissue. The hairline is not changed with this procedure.
A foreheadelevation is a surgical procedure that aims to lift the forehead, thus correcting the downward movement of the eyebrows, making it possible to obtain a rejuvenated look.
The forehead lift operation can be performed with two aesthetic plastic surgery techniques:
Endoscopic technique. The surgeon makes four small incisions, less than 5 mm long, in the scalp. He then inserts a small endoscope into one of these incisions and proceeds to separate the skin from the skull, up to the eyebrow area. Then he places 4 or 5 small metal screws on the skull to serve as support for a suspension system that will raise the forehead. Then he removes excess skin and repositions the eyebrows at their natural height.
Open technique. This technique consists of making an incision in the middle of the skull, from ear to ear. The plastic surgeon separates the skin from the skull and proceeds to remove excess skin between eyebrows and temples (if necessary). It then places sutures at strategic points of the skull so that it closes again over strong points and thus be able to support all movements of expression.
Some people may have difficulty closing their eyelids. In this case, it is necessary to put artificial tears until the healing of the levator muscle and its adjustment to the new situation. This healing usually occurs between 3 and 6 months after surgery.
Patients should avoid exposing themselves to the sun for at least three months or use a high protection sunscreen (SPF 50 +) during this period.
In order to improve the healing process and reduce risks of infection, it is advisable to perform a physiotherapy session within a few weeks following the operation.
A forehead lift is an aesthetic operation that takes place in the head and neck area to remove wrinkles on the forehead and raise sagging eyebrows.
The forehead lift is also called “brow lift” or “eyebrow ptosis”.
The indications of a forehead lift are:
– a deep frown line between the eyebrows;
– frown lines;
– falling eyebrows;
– vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows;
– horizontal wrinkles on the forehead;
– raised scars on the scalp.
It generally concerns women and men over 40 years of age who have a significant sagging of the eyebrows in relation to the cheekbones which they find excessive. The latter gives them an expression of sadness, tension or fatigue.
The forehead lift is one of the most popular facial rejuvenation procedures.
The signs of aging on the forehead are due to laxity of the skin, soft tissues and eyebrows.
Forehead lift (or forehead lift) is an aesthetic surgery that consists in lifting the soft tissues of the forehead, to raise the eyebrows and diminish wrinkles of expression. This technique also allows for a better opening of the eyelids by removing excess skin.
The forehead lift is often associated with other surgical procedures to rejuvenate the face, especially the blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). It can also be associated with a facelift, or sometimes with necklift surgery.
