After the operation

You want a bandage around your head that you should wear for 2-3 days. There is often little pain and you will in case get pain medication to reduce this. You will usually leave the clinic after 1-2 hours with a relative. You should have relatives with you until the next morning.

It is important that you lie with your head high for the first 24 hours and eat easily digestible food for the first 24 hours. You can shower when the bandage is removed and it is nice to use a headband for another 2 weeks.

Be careful not to thread your head through a tight sweater, put on a helmet or rub hard on your forehead for the first 6 weeks. Be gentle when washing hair, gently stroke the hair backwards.

You will have blood clots around the eyes to a greater or lesser degree, but they will usually be gone after about 2 weeks. Be careful with exercise for the first 4 weeks.

When considering a forehead lifting operation, you may want to know what to expect after the operation. This is in general, a simple and safe procedure which can give you many years of improved self-esteem and how you look.

Complications and results of endoscopic forehead lift

Patients with short hair

Patients with short hair are very well suited for an endoscopic forehead lift rather than a traditional open forehead lift. There will be small scars on the scalp that will be invisible in the long run.

Swelling and blood tests during forehead lift

Everyone has moderate swelling in the forehead right after the procedure, but the forehead looks smooth and unoperated. It is common to have blood clots around the eyes and on the cheekbones. This is usually gone after 14 days.

Asymmetry

Remember that the eyebrows will not necessarily be completely symmetrical after such an operation. Everyone has a certain degree of asymmetry and so it will be afterwards as well. It can be adjusted with how the eyebrows are nipped. If you are very concerned about millimeter symmetry, this (or other procedures) are not for you. The eyebrows also gradually lower down gradually, but maintain a higher position than before the operation.

Forehead lift and angry muscle

The corrugator is weakened, so there will be less wrinkles in this area. Many people will have reduced sensitivity in the forehead and scalp after the procedure. This usually lasts for 2-3 months. The forehead may wrinkle as before, but it will be smoother. In very rare cases, you can also damage the nerve to the forehead muscle, this means that you can no longer wrinkle the forehead.

Forehead lift and decreased sensation

Forehead lift causes reduced sensation in the forehead and scalp for 2-3 months, but is always temporary.
