Breast cancer: If you have a cancerous nodule of 2 cm or less
If you have a knot of 2 cm or less, you will probably be able to choose between two types of operations:
- breast-conserving surgery
- breast surgery
A breast-conserving operation is a procedure in which we remove the lump and restore the shape of the breast as well as possible during the same operation. You will receive subsequent radiation treatment to prevent breast cancer from recurring.
A breast augmentation surgery involves removing the entire breast. It is possible to rebuild the breast either by the same operation or by a later operation.
