Only knowing what your doubts, fears or desires for change are, can we advise the best possible nose according to precise characteristics.
We show you below the most common types of nose for rhinoplasty.
Bumpy, humped, or camel nose
The nose with a hump is perceived if looking at the profile it appears as a hill that comes out of the nose. We define this hill as hump or nasal hump. They can appear due to an injury or be related to the patient’s own genetics.
The rhinoplasty surgeon must remove the bumps with surgical techniques in which he reduces the cartilage of the nasal bridge.
Bulbous-tipped nose
The bulbous nose is one that is like a ball or bean. Noses of this type make their end appear more rounded than normal.
The rhinoplasty surgeon will work on reshaping the cartilage beneath the nose, in a process similar to that used for uneven-tipped noses.
Uneven pointed nose
Some people have one side of the tip of their nose different from the other. For example, side may be larger or smaller, or higher or lower, or the hole is slightly crooked to one side.
The reason the tip of a nose differs in shape is due to the condition of the underlying cartilage. These irregularities can be the product of an injury or some genetic factor.
For uneven nose tip correction, cartilage that is located under the tip of the nose is operated on. The idea is to achieve a symmetrical appearance between both ends of the tip.
Crooked nose
The facial axis is a line that goes from the eyebrow to the tip of the nose. If that line is twisted to one side or the other, we are facing a crooked nose or laterorhinitis. In this case the nasal or nasal septum bones do not line up at a right angle, below the midline of the face. The nose may tilt to one side.
A crooked nose is often the result of an injury or it can be genetic.
Rhinoplasty plastic surgery attempts to straighten the nasal bones and septum to achieve greater harmony in the shape of the nose.
Very projecting nose
When the tip of a nose sticks out too far, it can make the nose look bigger than it really is.
There are two alternatives to treat a nose with a prolonged nasal projection; the first involves raising the bridge of the nose so that the tip no longer looks jagged. The second option has to do with reducing the projection of the nasal tip.
